Well it wasn’t the ideal deadline transfer day that we had all hoped for and needed, but it is what it is. Sunderland end the January transfer window with less fit strikers than they started it.
SIMMS STAYS AT EVERTON
This is the biggest downer of them all, Sunderland spent the entire month banking on a Simms return which didn’t happen. It seems Everton are in the boat of teams that like to have more than two strikers at their club, something we should take note of.
FREE AGENT TIME AGAIN?
Unfortunately it feels a bit like déjà vu, we’ll all be looking at the next best free agents for the next couple of days. Credit where credit is due, our signings this season have all looked top tier, but the lack of depth up top is a real worry with 18 games left in the season.
