MONDAY ROUNDUP

To start the week off, Sunderland have had a few stories hovering around ahead of Alex Neil’s return to the Stadium Of Light.

U21 BOSS TO LEAVE?

Under-21’s manager Graeme Murty has been linked with the Oxford United vacant managerial position. The League One side sacked long time manager Karl Robinson who was one month shy of reaching his five year anniversary with the U’s.

SUNDERLAND GOING GREEN

The club have announced today that they are making changes to how they operate to be more eco-friendly and halve their emissions by 2030 and become the first UK football club to net-zero by 2040. In a statement released by the club they have already begun making changes. Here is what they said:

The first stages of this commitment are underway with a programme of replacing all non-LED lights in all buildings, replacing the car park lighting and replacing the floodlights at the Eppleton Colliery Welfare ground, which is used by SAFC Women and the Club’s Under-21s.

SAFC REOPEN PREMIER CONCOURSE

The reopening of the Premier Concourse was also announced today for next season, with those who previously had season tickets there getting first dibs. Current season ticket holders who were previously in the concourse prior to its closure will be given some time before others if they want to go back there. The priority period will last for one week, beginning on Monday the 6th of March at 12pm, and ending on the 13th at 5pm.

The North West Upper stand will still be closed though, but if they do reopen then it will be the same as the Premier Concourse where people who had season tickets in that area prior to it closing will be contacted first.
