CONOR FULL OF CONFIDENCE

In form Conor McLaughlin seems full of sense and confidence ahead of our trip to Crewe this weekend…

CONFIDENCE

“The more games you win, the more confidence you get going into each game. When I was at Fleetwood we went on a 19-game unbeaten run and almost went up automatically. It just breeds confidence and you go into every game with confidence. We just need to keep going, take every game as it comes and not look too far ahead as every team is dropping points. There's going to be blips between now and the end of the season, so we need to keep going. There’s definitely a feel-good factor at the moment though. That comes with wins, although we know how quickly it can come back down. We can’t get ahead of ourselves because there’s a long way to go and a lot of games to be played - we just need to focus.”

HIGH PRESS

“Maybe in the past, the club has been looking at it, thinking with the size of the club, we should be beating most teams in this league. Now, the process is that we need to take each game as it comes. In the past, we’ve beaten the bigger teams in the league and slipped up against the smaller ones. That’s a mentality thing, but now we know if we go on a run, we’ve got a chance of going up. When you get the instructions to press high, you go and do it,” said McLaughlin. “I think that helps me and I enjoy that, being on the front foot. You can tell the lads do as well because of how well we're playing.”
