Wahbi's On Wearside...

It may come as a bit of a surprise after a decent season on loan at Rennes but it appears Wahbi Khazri will be heading back to Wearside. The Tunisian international, who will feature in this summer’s World Cup (or shop window if you like), spent last season on loan in France where he managed an impressive 9 goals in 17 games, however an offer to sign Khazri on a permanent basis has yet to materialise. It is pretty clear though that the player is keen on a move away from Sunderland: "I will not say that I will stay. If there are other offers, I have to study them”, explained Khazri. “"But it is true that I am not against staying at Rennes with this coach and this team, but I am open to anything. At the moment, I have not received anything so I will be back at my club."

In other news it is being reported that we’ve held talks with St Mirren boss Jack Ross as the new owners try to fill the vacant manager’s position at SAFC. The PFA Scotland Manager of the Year has already been sounded out by Ipswich Town and the 41 year old is in high demand following a very impressive season north of the border.

Hardcore fans and Sunderland till we die, whichever league we are in and whoever owns the club. Players, manager and chairman come and go. Fans remain. We are the club… click here to view product
