1973: THE PEOPLE'S VISUAL HISTORY

As we all know, today marks the anniversary of Sunderland AFC's famous FA Cup win of 1973. People talk about '73 all year round, but today in particular is the perfect time to tell/hear stories from the past.

ALS was involved in a project titled "Sunderland '73: The People's Visual History" where supporters would submit their memorabilia to be showcased in a book by Julian Germain. The exhibitions were amazing and everyone was extremely proud that they'd kept their momentos from the day.

The book also features a personal account of the cup run and win written by Sobs. Since A Love Supreme began offering fans’ opinions to the football world in 1989, FA Cup 1973 has loomed large in our contributions – even from those who weren’t alive at the time - and we enjoyed celebrating those memories and seeing what else is unearthed in the form of personal photos and memorabilia.
