With the transfer window now in full swing, Sunderland look more likely than ever to make their first signing of the summer. Here are some of the latest stories on the rumour mill...
ALEX PRITCHARD
The diminutive playmaker joined Huddersfield Town from Norwich for around £11 million, but has been marred by injuries. Despite having Premier League experience at Tottenham Hotspur, Pritchard has never lived up to his full potential. Huddersfield fans actually seem to be glad he’s leaving, due to his high wages and minimal impact on the pitch. The Terriers’ former owner Dean Hoyle regrets the transfer, claiming they overpaid for Pritchard. In total, the attacking midfielder has only scored 3 goals at The John Smith's stadium despite making over appearances. However, at League One level he could be the creative force to take some of the pressure off Aiden McGeady. At 35 years old, the Irishman won’t be playing such a crucial role in the team so Pritchard may be a key figure if he can stay fit.
