There are a lot of Championship teams with major honours, but I thought it would be fun to look at which six clubs (other than Sunderland who would top this list comfortably) have been the most successful in their respective histories. ‘Successful’ is a bit of a vague term, but for the purposes of this list league titles trump everything (even Ipswich’s UEFA Cup) and FA Cups outrank League Cups. Inter-Cities Fairs cups will also not be included because qualifying for that competition wasn’t really based on footballing merit. If you’re going to talk about success you could also weigh it so more recent successes (like Leicester’s title in 2016) count more but to make this list a bit more interesting we decided to count trophies won in the 1800s as trophies won within the last ten years.
