Tony Mowbray has been chatting about the future of Sunderland AFC and the feel good factor surrounding the club right now… FEEL-GOOD FACTOR "There is a feel-good factor at the club at the moment, and it only comes about by trying to put in hard work on the pitch. The players feel the warmth from the fans and they give even more if that's possible. At this moment we are in a decent place, but he haven't achieved anything other than a season of enjoyment. Firstly, people who pay their hard-earned money should be entertained and they should enjoy going to the games. I've been in football a long time and it can become a burden on you if you feel that you have to go to that football match, and I hope it hasn't been like that this year. I hope they have enjoyed the games, and even when we've lost I hope they've seen a team that's trying to improve and get better."
CONTINUED IMPROVEMENT
"We strive to improve every player in this team, and that has to go on into next season and the years beyond. Every football club should be looking for continued improvement. It's difficult to improve players like Roberts and Diallo who are really technically gifted because I can't teach them how to do drag backs, and flicks. But I can scream at them to get back and put their body on the line and block shots. Generally, what I say to the team before they go out, is the most talented players should work harder than the rest and if we all work hard, we have a chance to win. You fail when the great players walk back, in my mind if you can get those lads to do the work, then you have a real fighting chance."
