NEIL ON LEAGUE TABLE AND PRITCH

Due to the scheduling issues in League One and implications on fixtures from COVID-19, the League table can be quite deceiving if you don’t look at games played, Alex Neil vented about those issues earlier.
POORLY ORGANISED
“The only disparity you’ve got in League One in particular, because this is the first time I’ve been exposed to this, is I’ve never known so many teams to have so many odds game. It just gives the club and more importantly the fans a disproportionate understanding of where you actually are in the league. In the Championship, they try and keep the games relatively level. I know Covid has had a massive bearing on that because naturally teams have missed games due to that.”
BIZARRE
“This is probably the first time I’ve been going into each game with not really a true reflection of where you are in the league because there are spare games for opponents, for us so it’s quite bizarre.”
HANDLING THE PRESSURE
“It’s difficult to say that without knowing what the performances and results look like. That’s where it’s going to be decided. Whether it’s down to pressure, moments in the game, poor performance. What we’re doing at the moment is surmising that Rotherham and Morecambe are going to have things to play for. They might have achieved their objective by the time they get there.”
ONE GAME AT A TIME
“Where we are at the moment is everything is moving all the time. We don’t know what it’s going to look like from one week to the other. All we can do is deal with the one in front of us. I understand the line of questioning but I don’t think any further than the next game. When you’re talking about Morecambe, Rotherham and Plymouth, they’ve not even entered my brain so far.”
NOT THINKING ABOUT OTHERS
“I really don’t get caught up in who is playing who and how many points they’ve got, who’s got to play for what. It doesn’t even enter my brain. I try control what I can control and the rest of it takes care of itself.”
PRITCHARD
“He just wasn’t quite ready yet. I’ve worked with Al before and when he says it’s not feeling quite right, there is always something normally there and there was. There was a slight knick in his calf so it isn’t quite right but hopefully he should be okay for the next one.”
