This will be my first proper league match since March last year so I’ll be heading off for one or two pre-match libations in Fitzgeralds very soon. The Burton game was frustrating to say the least but by all accounts we did most things well except put the ball in the net. I like the look of Huggius and with the other new signings the squad is looking like it can make a serious challenge for an automatic promotion spot. Last season we seemed to be playing either Wimbledon or MK Dons every other week and the trend is repeating itself. It’s been raining for a good few hours and doesn’t show much sign of stopping so I think there’s scope for a few defensive slip-ups this afternoon. If we can get an early goal, I reckon we can win this game fairly comfortably so my match prediction is a 3-1 win.
I had a seat in the lower West Stand and it had stopped raining while I was walking from the pub. Patterson was starting and that suited me while Pritchard was also starting and I looked forward to seeing him get a goal but Cirkin was on the bench surprisingly. By the way, I’d love to see Vito back in the side and surely that could only be good for us. Our fans were in fine voice as we kicked off. There were maybe a hundred and fifty Wimbledon fans present.
