Phil Parkinson has given a transfer window update and it seems that we’ve cooled our interest in Burton’s Liam Boyce following the arrival of Kyle Lafferty. Parkinson explained: "With Liam, he is a player I have known for a while and we've watched recently. But with Kyle Lafferty coming in, and with Charlie and Will already here, to bring in another [central striker] would probably be one too many."
In terms of midfielders, we’ve also been linked with Greg Docherty of Rangers, Shrewsbury Town's Ollie Norburn, and Cardiff City's Will Vaulks. Parkinson added: "Greg was just one of a number of players we have been looking at in that position and we did make contact with Rangers, and we know what the deal is. But there are other players we are also considering, and Greg has got other options as well. He wants to get in the team quickly because he wants to play football. We have a list of players that we are interested in and we've made enquiries about a lot of them and we know what the deals are. It's not a money issue. Ollie is another player we have looked at and made an enquiry for, but he is only one of a number of players we are monitoring. Will Vaulks falls into a similar category - someone we rang up about, but that is as far as it has gone. There have been a lot of names mentioned, some are true and some are not. We would possibly like to add to the squad again but we will only do so if we feel the right player has become available."
However, Parkinson is happy with the loan signing of Bristol City centre-back Bailey Wright. He said: "I feel Bailey Wright is an excellent addition. He is a player we have been trying to get for a number of weeks but Bristol City had an injury, and there were other clubs in the Championship also looking at him, so I'm delighted to have him here. He is a player with a lot of experience and he has captained Bristol in the Championship."
