DAILY NEWS...

Here’s the news so far today, as Wearside waits for SAFC to sign someone…
GELHARDT SET FOR WIGAN
In one of the biggest surprises of the window, Joe Gelhardt who had half the Championship after him has decided to return to his former club Wigan on loan for the rest of the campaign. It seems the pull of keeping his former club Wigan in the Championship was more favourable than fighting for a playoff spot. He would also be guaranteed plenty of more minutes with Wigan than he might have at some other clubs further up the table.
ISAAC LIHADJI
We are thought to be interested in 20 year old Isaac Lihadji who currently plays with Losc Lille in Ligue 1 but his contract runs out in the summer. With Lille he has 39 appearances to his name but only three of them are starts, and this season he hasn’t touched the pitch. The winger has represented France at every stage from Under 16’s upwards other than the Senior squad, but his career has took a turn since joining Lille and falling out with the club it seems, as Lille president had this to say about him:
“Isaac’s future isn’t at Lille. We don’t want him to just go anywhere, but to a club where he can flourish. There were some great opportunities. I didn’t understand his choice. I have told him that. It’s up to him to decide what he wants to do, whether he wants to play football or not.”
WRIGHT OFF TO SCOTLAND?
In the last 24 hours there has been plenty of speculation regarding Bailey Wright's future on Wearside, with teams in the Scottish Premier League interested. Hibs and Aberdeen are both interested and both clubs have some ties that could play in their favour. For Hibs they have Lee Johnson who he has worked under with two clubs, us and Bristol City, and for Aberdeen their head of recruitment is none other than Tony Mowbray’s brother Darren.
