Michael Beale shared his thoughts after picking up his first home win as Sunderland boss.
FIRST HALF
“Absolutely delighted with the first half. The two goals in isolation were fantastic to be honest. Obviously Pritch has been sick, so we’ve not been able to use him so today’s the first time we’ve been able to play him from the start. I thought the area we played him in caused Preston real problems so I’m delighted with that goal. It’s a passage of play that we worked on but it’s also a fantastic strike from him. The second goal is everything that’s good about this team. Young goalkeeper comes and claims the cross, throws it out to Jack, he takes us 60 or 70 yards up the pitch and Naz gets his first goal for Sunderland. What a moment for him. I don’t think people can overlook how tough it’s been for him the last few months coming over without his family, learning a new language and not scoring until this moment. But I think it’s a great striker’s goal, he gets across the defender and scores."
