I Love Sunderland

I'm writing to you because I've been searching for a Sunderland's fans blog, and it has not been easy. Finally, I found your page, I surfed on it and I read some of your content and I truly liked what I could see.

I'm going to introduce myself. My name is Andrés Escobar, I'm 27 years old and I'm from Colombia. Probably my name could not be new for some of you, my country had a fantastic and incredible defender with the same name but sadly he was murdered after the USA FIFA World Cup in 1994. Probably my name is connected to that guy because the destiny wanted that I loved this sport as he did it, and I'm here, living every day and breathing football, it's my drug.

Since I was a child, I've followed my local football, South America football, and obviously, Europe football. The Premier League always has been my favourite league around the world, I love your football style, your love and support even if the team hasn't a good performance, but the most important thing for me is your organisation, the way you have defined your leagues and cups, it's brilliant and outstanding. In your league, we've had some players like Juan Pablo Angel who played for Aston Villa (2001), Faustino Asprilla who played for Newcastle (1996), Hamilton Ricard who used to be part of Middlesbrough (1998), Jhon Viafara who played for Portsmouth (2005) and Southampton (2006), and recently names like Davinson Sánchez (Tottenham), José Izquierdo (Brighton & Hove Albion), Carlos Sánchez (West Ham United), Jefferson Lerma (AFC Bournemouth) and Yerry Mina (Everton F.C.) have landed in your gorgeous league.

Now, you must be wondering why this Colombian guy is writing to you. Well, the reason is simple and direct, I fell in love with your team, I fell in love with Sunderland, I fell in love with the Stadium of Light, I fell in love with the city, with the academy of light, with the fans, with the staff, with all the things which conform the team. How was it possible? Well, as I told you every day I live and I breathe football, so one day I was looking for a new series to watch on Netflix and I found 'Sunderland 'til I die' and since the first chapter, I felt a direct connection with the team. Probably were the colours, my football team in Colombia has the same colours, probably were the fans, probably was the tough situation the club has at this moment, I don't know, but the point is that I feel that Sunderland now is part of my life.

I finished the series just two days ago, but in these two days I've searched, and I've read a lot about the team, and I would like to be part of you somehow.

Therefore, I hope my letter be read for you, I hope the fans know that even if I'm so far from Sunderland, I'm living right now in Melbourne, Australia, even if I've never been to your city, even if I've never been to the stadium, there is a new Sunderland fan who is looking for the way to watch the matches and be connected with the team news here in Melbourne.

I apologize in advance if you find some mistakes in my latter, my native language is Spanish and I'm here in Australia studying English, but anyway, I'm sure that my message will be caught by you.

I'm leaving here my email and my social network nicknames. I would like to start having contact with Sunderland's community, talk to you, discuss the team present, discuss the League One, discuss different things.
