Embleton Signs
As Jack Ross predicted last week, Elliot Embleton has signed a new contract with SAFC, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2020-21 season. Embleton said: “I’m really happy to have signed a new deal at the club and I can’t wait for the start of the season. I enjoyed my time at Grimsby Town and it was a great experience, but I’m ready for the next challenge and I’m happy to be back. I’ve been here my entire life, so I’m buzzing to be staying.”
Jack Ross added: “Elliot is a talented player and I’m delighted that he has committed his future to the club. He gained valuable experience last season during his loan spell at Grimsby Town, maturing as both a player and a person, and I believe he’s ready to step up and become a valuable member of our first-team squad.”
In other news, Jack Baldwin reveals how he struggled to cope with missing out on promotion last season: “The way the season ended last year was really tough for everybody, I personally wasn’t the easiest person to live with for a few weeks after. It was good for everyone to get away and relax with their families so that we can come back recharged and ready for the season ahead. At the same time, going into this season I think we are determined to put last season’s disappointment right. Pre-season is all about fitness and getting match ready and the game on Thursday really helped in that respect, the first week of pre-season was one of the toughest I have had in my career. The changing room is a lively environment which is great, and everyone is in good spirits. We are getting the balls out a bit more now and started to focus on what we are going to be doing on the pitch and get ready for the start of the season.”
