With Stewart Donald looking to sell up or attract major investment in SAFC, it’s been reported that he’s turned down a £70m takeover bid from a Malaysian consortium, who are prepared to offer £45m up front and a further £25m when we return to the top flight. However, the Malaysians are not the only ones interested in buying our club. It’s going to be an interesting summer.
Ahead of the trip to Peterborough, Charlie Wyke is raring to go. “We keep saying that it is in our own hands if we keep winning games. Performances like the one on Friday help with the mood around the place. It gives you a lot of confidence, especially when you can score two goals and keep a clean sheet so we’re flying going into Monday’s game at Peterborough. All the games now are massive. We have got to play well, hopefully that can continue from Friday and then we can look to build in our remaining matches.”
Jack Ross is also looking forward to the trip south. “It’s a demanding schedule but we knew that was going to be the case in April. We have enjoyed this week because although it wasn’t a full week, the benefit of having that extra time to prepare was seen on Friday. We will regroup and see how everyone is physically, do our preparation as quickly as we can for Peterborough – another difficult game – against a good side too. We will go there in a good frame of mind and we understand what we need to do to reach our goal this season. We got one out of the way on Friday and now we need to go again on Monday and do the same.”
