Catts Back

It seems that Lee Cattermole and Duncan Watmore will start our FA Cup second-round replay with Walsall on Tuesday, but Adam Matthews will miss out after picking up a knock against Accrington Stanley. Jack Ross said: “Duncan will be back in the squad for the game. We always planned that. Even prior to the Checkatrade Trophy match, it was our intention to have him involved in that game, then miss the weekend, then be back involved for the Walsall game. He’s back in the squad for tomorrow as planned, and that opportunity to get back on the pitch again will be good for us. Lee will also be back in the squad, and that will be good for us. Lee’s form this season has been very good – we’ve spoken often enough about the contribution he’s made. Adam will be unavailable for tomorrow, but it’s not too bad – certainly better than we envisaged at the time when he came off. There is no point taking unnecessary risks with him though – there are a number of important league games that will come up after this cup replay. We’ve got concerns over another two or three players, and we’ll either make a late decision on them or if there’s any doubt whatsoever, we’ll just take them out. It’s nothing that would rule players out for a period, it’s more just some issues from Saturday and some ongoing issues that we need to manage as well. Like we have in all the cup competitions this season, we want to try to progress in the tournament. We’re conscious of the fixtures we’ve had, and the fixtures we’ve got coming up. That will reflect how we rotate our squad for the game.”
