This & That

Jack Ross has been chatting about Armenian trialist, Gael Andonian, who had a run out in our U23's 2-1 win over West Brom on Monday. The 23-year-old centre half was released by Marseille last summer and has 22 caps for Armenia. Ross said: "He did OK. He'd trained with me for about a week. We wanted to have a look because we don't have a naturally left-sided centre-back. We don't really have a full-back/centre-back in the squad either. He's got a decent pedigree and is a free agent. I thought he did fine because he'd trained well with us but only really had one day with the 23's and it's a different game. We'll hopefully get a further look at him and see how things progress. It'll be something for the club to look at as a whole, there's attraction because of the attributes I've mentioned, but it would very much be to give us another option rather than him coming in as someone to drop straight into the team."
Meanwhile, Denver Hume is buzzing that he and his fellow youngsters (like of Josh Maja and Bali Mumba) are being given the opportunity to shine under Jack Ross. Denver said: “I think it's great that the staff have given us that opportunity. What they've said to us is that if you're good enough, you're young enough as well. If we keep working hard and do everything they say I think they will give us a chance. When you see people getting their chances that pushes you on. Josh Maja, he's done great this season and that makes other people want to push on and see what they can do when they push up to the first team. I've being playing on the right, instead of the left, but I just have to try and take my opportunity no matter where I'm playing. Obviously, it's a new position for me and I'm learning it but I think it adds something else to my game so I'm enjoying that. At the minute I'm just trying to do everything I can in training and keep impressing the manager and other staff and see where it takes me.”
