Euphoria & Realism

With less than 24 hours to go till we enter our first League One game of the season at the SOL, a new dawn has rose and the golden sunshine will hit the East Stand tomorrow morning and it will glisten like it hasn’t for some time now.

After a dramatic and pretty traumatic few years following our beloved club, we now have hope and optimism. It’s surreal, a mix of fact with a touch of fantasy, and it’s the reason our club is firmly on its way back.

There’s no doubt the summer has been one of the most turbulent in our lifetime. We’ve hardly had a chance to blink, in the fear we’d miss something. Naturally this has created a euphoric desire to achieve promotion at the first attempt.

Most fans will echo this, as has Jack Ross, while keeping our feet firmly on the ground. We need realism, not only this weekend, but throughout the whole season.

We have a team full of new blood, oozing hunger and desire. However, they’ve only known each other for a short while and this is where fans play their part.

It won’t always go our way in this league despite the hysteria that’s been created during the past month or so.

Let’s take our seats tomorrow, sing loud, and once again be proud of the club we have.

From the moment that huge flag appears in the South Stand, this team needs us, and the 30,000 strong red and white army that attend tomorrow will no doubt deliver a cacophony of noise, while creating a fortress that will ins-till fear into the opposition.

It’s come home again, now go and enjoy it
