SAFC 2018 Survey...

SAFC have partnered with the Red & White Army to launch the SAFC 2018 Survey, giving fans the chance to voice their opinions on everything from the choice of beer at the stadium to the entrance music played when the Lads emerge from the tunnel. SAFC Director Charlie Methven explained: "Stewart and I are football fans. We know very well what it means to pay to go to matches, as that is what we have been doing on weekends for most of our lives. That match day experience can either be awful, decent or brilliant. Too often, British football clubs are insufficiently determined to make it brilliant and we think that is a waste. One of the joys of taking over at Sunderland AFC is being able to put into practice things that we have always believed in. Involving SAFC fans as a constituent part of the club, rather than as mere paying punters, is a strongly held belief of ours. Put simply, we are more likely to take the right decisions, if our fellow fans have been involved in actually making the decision."

Results on the pitch of late haven't helped matters and that's something Methven is all too aware of: "It goes without saying that the performance and result are very influential in how much we all enjoy a day at the football. It’s not the only aspect, though, and we cannot control it. What we can do is ensure that everything possible is done to make the rest of the day out as fun and authentic as possible. That is what this survey is all about, and we’d like to thank RAWA for partnering with us to deliver it.”

Carabao Cup Draw...

Sunderland will play Sheffield Wednesday at the Stadium of Light in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

These matches are scheduled to take place in the week commencing August 13.

Pre-Season Craic...

Sunderland have announced the first four of their pre-season fixtures. Jack Ross' side will travel to Darlington July 11th, Hartlepool July 14th, Grimsby July 17th and St Mirren on 21st July.

We'll likely field a number of different players in these matches for the manager to get to know his side and implement his tactics and ideas. The squad are also off to Portugal for a pre-season training camp and it is understood that they are attempting to organise a friendly there. More friendlies are expected to be announced as the season gets closer and the new squad comes together.
