PREDICTED XI VS BRISTOL ROVERS

GK: Jon McLaughlin. The Scottish keeper kept yet another clean sheet last week against Oxford, making that seven in his last eight games.

CB: Jordan Willis. Willis is arguably our best and most important player in the current system with his outstanding pace helping both defensively and when attacking.

CB: Alim Ozturk. Phil Parkinson’s hand will finally be forced into making a change to the team due to Bailey Wright’s long-term ankle injury. We know what Ozturk’s all about and may be a better option to replace the Aussie in the middle of the three rather than Joel Lynch.

CB: Tom Flanagan. Flanagan has impressed recently on the left of the three and will be expecting to start again.

RWB: Luke O’Nien. Luke has shown time and time again that as well as his infectious enthusiasm, he also shows attacking quality on the ball.

LWB: Denver Hume. Denver has had a great season, is a consistent threat going forward and has learnt a lot under Parkinson.

CM: Max Power. The captain has really been thriving in a reserved role, doing the more unappreciated work in the team.

CM: George Dobson. The ex-Walsall captain has been good in the engine room and will again be looking to keep Josh Scowen on the bench.

LW: Chris Maguire. It seems a bit of a cliché at the moment, but Maguire’s improved fitness is really shining through. He’s managing to close down defenders right down to the last minute of games. As well as this, his deliveries have been much better; setting up another goal from a corner against Oxford last week.

RW: Lynden Gooch. It’s fair to say Gooch wasn’t able to thrive last week in a match where we didn’t see too much of possession. However, at home against a poor Rovers side he’ll be key in getting an early opener, a trend in recent weeks.

ST: Charlie Wyke. The big man hasn’t been in fantastic form in front of goal, but always put a shift in with his hold up play. With Lafferty still lacking match fitness, Wyke is the only viable starting option.
