Marc McNulty has joined SAFC on a season-long loan, from EFL Championship side Reading. The 26-year-old has also played for Livingston, Sheffield United, Portsmouth, Bradford City and Coventry and has netted 110 times in 303 career appearances.
McNulty said: “I had offers from clubs at a higher level, but when Sunderland come calling, it’s a no brainer, so as soon as I knew the offer was on the table, I just wanted to get the deal done. I’ve played for big clubs before and I love the pressure that comes with a passionate fan base, so I can’t wait to get out there and show the supporters what I can do.”
Jack Ross added: “Marc arrives with a wealth of experience in the EFL and an impressive goalscoring record. He understands the expectation that comes with playing for a club of this size, and he is ready to work hard and embrace that challenge. I’m sure he will be a valuable addition to the squad and have a big impact over the course of the 2019-20 season.”
