win a makeover

ARE you a Sunderland fan in need of a makeover?

Do you devote so much time and energy to your beloved football club that you neglect your looks? Has your hair remained in the same shaggy, unkempt style for as long as you can remember?

If this is you, don’t worry – help is at hand. Sunderland’s leading hair and beauty salon, Reds, is offering fans the chance to celebrate the start of the new season in style with a complete new look to stun friends and family – and wow fellow fans on the terraces.

Sunderland fans are known for their passion for football and their dedication to their team – but for many devoting so much of their lives to football leaves little time for preening and styling.

Now fans are being offered the opportunity to sit back, relax and enjoy some luxurious pampering thanks to the talented stylists and beauty therapists at Reds who are offering makeovers to one man and one woman (not necessarily a couple).

Reds has joined forces with the Echo and the Sunderland fanzine A Love Supreme to run this exciting competition which could transform the images of two fans.

All you need to do to enter is send a photograph, and a brief description of why you think you deserve the makeover, to The Sunderland Echo, Echo House, Pennywell, Sunderland , SR4 9ER. Entries can also be sent, online, via Love Supreme. To mail@a-love-supreme.com

Fans have until Friday, July 27, to send in their entries. Semi-finalists will be selected by a team of judges from Reds, the Sunderland Echo and A Love Supreme. The two winners will be announced in early August when they will be invited into the salon at East Herrington for their makeovers.

Leading salon Reds has fought off tough city centre competition to not only hold its own – but to thrive – in the highly competitive hair and beauty industry in Wearside.

From its launch in Grangetown, Sunderland , 21 years ago owners Susan and Harry Hall have poured their heart and soul into the business, building up a brand that is widely respected and much loved in the region.

The couple employ 37 local people – and will soon be taking on a further 25 when they open a new salon and training academy in Sunderland city centre.

Hair and beauty appointments can be booked by calling (0191) 511 0288.
