What was your pre-match predictions for the game (honestly)?
Hard fought out draw
Was the 3-1 score line a fair result in your eyes?
Tough call really. You deserved something from the game, but I always find it difficult to see past the fact that I can’t stand Roy Keane. Very happy with the points in the circumstances
After we equalised we seemed to control the game and maybe should have taken the lead, do you agree with this?
Could have? Should have? Hard to say really. Napoleon once said something about preferring lucky generals to competent ones. Jones always looked dangerous but football is as much about luck as judgement. We have suffered with injuries and have been unable to field a full first 11 but we were lucky, you fought hard and were not
What did you make of Rob Green’s save against Leadbitter?
It was going to have to be good to stop that shot. Well struck, but Green has been keeping us in games with great saves all season
Should he be England’s no1? Is he better than Sunderland and Scotland no1 Craig Gordon?
Double edged sword that one. Obviously you want your players to get the chance to play at the highest level and not feel that they need to move on to get recognition, but I always have reservations about internationals. I’m afraid I’m club first country second. As for better than Craig Gordon, I’d say so, but then I guess I would wouldn’t I!
Kenwyne Jones took his goal well, do you think he has the potential to be a quality striker in the Premier League?
I think Jones is quality, only time will tell though. I’m generally against hasty judgements but he appears to look a handful. The question is, do you think you can hang on to him?
What do your fans make of Craig Bellamy? It’s just everyone hates him
I was very wary of Bellamy coming, but so far so good. He seems to be popular with the fans, but again, only time will tell. He’s not been with us long enough to get into trouble, or prove he’s put his bad boy behaviour behind him
Ex Sunderland defender George McCartney played the game at left-back, how do you rate him as a player?
McCartney is very highly rated by many of the West Ham faithful but also under-rated by others, probably because he isn’t a big name. I really like him. He’s proven to be solid and links up well with Etherington, plus he scored what proved to be an important goal, with his weaker foot against Bolton the other week. Which is nice!
Who’s better, McCartney or Clive Clarke?
Clarke never really got a run with us. I seem to recall he put in an excellent performance against Arsenal at Highbury in our promotion season, which is no mean feat, but I wouldn’t say I’ve seen enough of him to draw a fair comparison
Will Alan Curbishley be in a job come Christmas?
Yes. He’ll still be our manager
What do you make of Roy Keane’s career as a Premier League manager so far?
He’s doing extremely well, which doesn’t surprise me at all. It pisses me off no end though. I think he’s going to be a great manager
Anyways are you optimistic for the rest of the season? Whereabouts do you think you’ll finish?
After last season, I said I’d be happy with 12th. Given that we’ve struggled to field most of our first 11 since day one and we’re in the top half of the table, I don’t see 9th or 10th as unrealistic when our first team players are recovered and playing together. Anything above that then I’ll need pinching to see if I’m dreaming
Who was your best player?
Probably either Green or McCartney
Who was your worst player?
I’m a big fan of Hayden Mullins but I didn’t think he had a very good game. Upson didn’t handle Jones either
What did you think of Sunderland’s performance?
Just what I expected. Hard working, battling. The sort of thing that you’d expect from a side run by Roy Keane
Who was our best player?
Jones just scared me, so I’m going to have to say him really
Who was our worst player?
Jones. Should have made more use of his chances and in future he doubtlessly will, he, he, he! Seriously though our team has been so unsettled with changes that I tend to try and see who’s working well in our side, rather than picking out a donkey in the opposition
Where do you think we’ll finish this season?
Right now, I’ll say you’ll survive, I’m sure and several weeks before then end of the season, which is great for any newly promoted club. Obviously there’s a transfer window coming up which may give you the opportunity to strengthen so you could end up quite comfortable
Your predictions for:
Premier League:
Arsenal. Wouldn’t mind seeing Man City do well. The other likely options are distinctly unpalatable
FA Cup:
West Ham hopefully! Surely it can’t be much longer. Is there a football fan in the country that doesn’t hope for a cheeky cup run every year?
Carling Cup:
West Ham have never won this one, so again we live in hope for one or the other. Curbishley has set his stall out early on this one and predicted that most of the top teams won’t be taking it too seriously again this year so we have a great chance. Of course, now it’s down to the final eight, I think he might be reassessing that one. Ahem
Relegation:
Don’t care really, so long as it isn’t us. Derby look like the living dead already. Boro and Bolton bore the tits off me, so I wouldn’t miss them. Sadly Tottenham will survive

Who’d win in a fight? Curbishley or Keane? And why?
Keane. The Referee wouldn’t see anything when the kidney punches and rabbit punches started. Not even in the action replays. Did I mention I don’t like Roy Keane?
Final word...
Obviously I’d like 3 more points off of you in March, but good luck with the rest of the season!
