who needs cantona? eh? villa craic...
fresh from the sol

Name: Daniel Gregson
Age: 22
How long you’ve supported the club: All my life

What were your pre-match predictions for the game (honestly)?
I thought a narrow victory for Villa

Was the 1-1 score line a fair result in your eyes?
Probably. You were the better team in the first half but in the 2 nd we came out and caused you a lot more problems and deservedly equalised

Do you think there was anything wrong with our last minute winner?
I can see why the referee disallowed it because it looked like Carson was prevented from going for the ball, I can understand your frustrations and I’d have probably been the same if it happened at the other end but I think he made the correct decision

Shaun Maloney hit a peach of a free-kick to equalize, how important are villa’s young players this season?
Very important. We have a lot of experienced players like John Carew and Gareth Barry but it’s exciting to see the likes of Maloney and co performing well for the team

Will it be the year you get into Europe?
Who knows

Martin O’Neill said before the match that it was important for you to silence the crowd, did you think we created a decent atmosphere?
The early goal helped wake your fans up but I felt the ground really sparked into life when both sides were pressing for a winner, let’s not forget we can make some noise as well

Anyways are you optimistic for the rest of the season? Whereabouts do you think you’ll finish?

Hopefully 6th

Who was your best player?

Gareth Barry

Who was your worst player?

Carew was quiet but he didn’t exactly perform badly

What did you think of Sunderland’s performance?

You started brightly but didn’t build on it, you’ll need to learn how to kill teams ff if you are going to survive this season

Who was our best player?
Higginbotham at the back was solid and he scored

Who was our worst player?

Paul McShane gave the goal away so I’d have to say him

Where do you think we’ll finish this season?
15th

Who’d win in a fight? Martin O’Neill or Roy Keane? And why?
I’d say O’Neill, when he’s angry there’s no-one harder

Cheers
