No, we probably should have scored even more

Through out the game we (especially Paul McShane) could not handle your attacks, would you put it down to Cahill’s return to the side?
No, we just played well, keeping the ball on the ground and developing our attacks better than we usually do. And then there were the three Route One (aka “hoofball”) goals… Yes, the first one was down to a mistake by your bloke… and he just got worse

I agree, McShane did have a defensive nightmare, if he wasn’t playing do you think the score would have been so emphatic?

Fair enough. Would you say that Everton played great or that Sunderland played awful?
A bit of both really

Did you feel sorry for the Sunderland fans who made the trip down?
Nope, that's football I'm afraid

A key difference in the side was David Moyes bringing on Andy Johnson, in contrast to us bringing on Andy Cole, how important is squad depth in the Premier League?
To be fair Andy Cole has scored way more goals in the Premier League than Andrew Johnson but obviously age is catching up with him. Of course squad depth is important, but so is making the right substitutions

What are your thoughts on the signing of Yakubu?
He’s a great goalscorer. I felt the fee was a bit spendy, but it looks like he is going to deliver… as long as we play the ball in to his feet. Everton centre-forwards are renowned for their heading ability… which may explain why he picked Number 22!

Anyways are you optimistic for the rest of the season? Whereabouts do you think you’ll finish?
Hopeful that we might actually achieve something by way of a cup run - that would be a first under Moyes, whose league record is that of a yo-yo: we’ll struggle to finish even close to sixth
