What was your pre-match predictions for the game (honestly)?
I couldn’t see us losing to be honest, I thought we’d win by the odd goal

Was the 2-1 score line a fair result in your eyes?
Yes I think we deserved to win, even though you gifted us two goals I felt we dominated for lengthy periods

The game seemed pretty even until you score two goals in a minute, what did you make of our defending?
It was pretty awful to be honest, you were pretty solid until the goal but then you collapsed, we could have even nicked a third straight after if it wasn’t for your keeper

Do you think Nosworthy and Higginbotham are capable Premier League defenders?
I don’t think I can comment because I’ve only seen them play once. They did seem solid but if your concentration goes at this level you will always get punished so they need to learn from their mistakes soon

Roque Santa Cruz looks like a bargain, how has he settled in?
He’s a great player and a real top buy from Hughes. He fits into the team fantastically and possess all the qualities of a top striker, not forgetting we still have McCarthy and Derbyshire competing for places

Grant Leadbitter took his goal well, did you ever think we might nick a draw?
Yeah it was a good finish. I don’t think there was enough time to nick a draw but you put us under some pressure, it would have been cruel if we drew

Anyways are you optimistic for the rest of the season? Whereabouts do you think you’ll finish?
I think we can push into the top six, but it’s all about consistency

Bentley, he was unstoppable at times

I’m not sure, I think everyone did well

What did you think of Sunderland’s performance?
It was scrappy, you didn’t ever look threatening and that might be a problem for you later in the season

Liam Miller did his job well

I’ll have to say your centre halves because they effectively cost you the game
