Similar to when the Gunners beat Sunderland at the Emirates 3-2 earlier in the season, the lads produced a heartening display that saw them beaten by the odd goal, although Arsenal always looked like they had the ability to step it up a gear...

At half-time I caught up on the Radio 5 soccer news and planted a few courgettes and dwarf green beans. It’s a wild life here in Sin City. Not surprisingly Kenwyne didn’t reappear and O’Donovan came on for him. There was a good chance for Arsenal to increase their lead when Whitehead was penalized for a back-pass and they were given a free-kick on our six-yard line but Gilberto...

To be honest, at first I didn’t think too much of going to see the Ressies play in the final, but then suddenly it dawned on me what my evening was going to entail… The SoL drenched in glorious sunshine, a local derby, going to a match safe in the knowledge the first team wasn’t in a relegation scrap… I swiftly realised I could be in for a bit of a Tuesday night treat...
